 Creator Economy and The Future

    Throughout history, different kinds of an economy dominated the world and one gave birth to the other. In the 1800s it was the industrial economy and it had its dominion over the world for more than two centuries. During this era people earned by making things. Then two major world wars and a great depression changed the structure of the economy.  People started earning money for their services to others. This made people look for different ways to spend their money. This demand resulted in the consumer economy where trade became more globalised and the media advertised the latest and the greatest product for the consumers to buy. This was followed by the age of technological innovations and we entered an era where knowledge and information became easily accessible. Thus this was the knowledge economy that made the way for the creator economy to form and start. In this economy, people are finding a way to earn by doing what they like and marketing their talents and hobbies. 

    The Creator economy is still in the baby phase and has a lot of potentials. The help of a corporate institution or the industry is not needed to be a successful creator. One is able to earn through a small number of dedicated fan following. The market too is becoming dependent on the creators. In this economy, the monopoly of big corporations is somehow fading and is gradually moving towards a decentralised market. Here we can see the individuals with their creativity are turning stories and ideas into content that are earning thousands and millions. Even the ways of branding are also changing. Brands are not looking anymore for big names to promote their products but creator who can help them reach the masses. 

    For humans, the connection with creativity is an integral part of life and for the first time, we can see that the power of creativity is harnessed by the collective masses. Every economy has its means of production which is the key to determine them. Previously the means were always in the control of the powerful industries and monopolistic corporations. That is changing. As we gradually move towards a creator's economy the foundation of a new model of collective ownership is being set by this economic structure. Here the means of production are contents that are collectively owned by the creators and this benefits the masses and not only a few like it did in the previous economical structure. 

    The most wonderful thing is that anyone can become a creator. It does not matter which country a person is from, what state do they belong, what colour they are, which religion do they believe in; if someone has an idea and enough passion to tell stories that make people smile, make them laugh, make them think, make them believe then it is enough to become a good creator and have an impact in others lives.
